When i stripped the rust away there was a wade of putty stuck in the front entrance to the rocker panels. Is this supposed to be there should i shoot foam back in there after i treat the rust? Where does the air flow to the vent come from? Thanks Capt.

I wouldn't shoot foam in there. There was a thread about foam holding moisture/rust in a few months ago. On the rocker panel putty, I learned this past weekend at the AutoFair, there is supposed to be some type of rubber weatherstripping between the outer skin and inner skin in the back of the front wheel wells. That might have been where the putty came from. I still don't really understand how or what to replace the weatherstripping with. HTH somewhat. Jarrell

The rubber weatherstripping is still there under 1/4 of undercoating,The wade of putty about the size of a baseball was found on both sides at the begining of the inside of the rocker channel.

Hey Capt, that looks almost as bad as Willit? when I took it to the body shop earlier this year. They had to replace part of the structure where door mounts. To answer your question on the air flow, it all comes from the base of the windshield. There are openings in the wiper well that allow air flow down inside the fender wells and out the vents in the kick panels. If you open the screen and the wiper motor panel you'll see the cavity goes clear across from fender to fender. HTH.
