SCCA RACES SAT,SUN,MON MAy 28,29,30 - 2005
Pacific International Raceway in Auburn (just off highway 18)

http://www.pacificraceways.com/ for directions.

If your in Washigton and want to check out some cool SCCA racing, I'm driving my GT up to the SCCA races tomorrow (Saturday - May 28) to hang out for the morning/afternoon...or whenever.

I'll probably head up mid morning around 10ish. It's $10 to get in. You can walk around the pits and see and talk to the owners first hand. All classes and types of cars from Porsches to Vettes, to Datsuns etc....No Opels :(...except mine in the pit area. :) I have a co-worker who works for Goodyear that mounts the tires on the rims. So he lets me park right in the pit area for free. Good Opel exposure.

Just wanted to share:

I took the "Conrero" GT up to the SCCA races on Saturday. She was sitting on static display near the Goodyear booth which happens to be right next to the track entrance. I left the hood open for all to see.

It got quite a reception. People were gathering around talking and pointing and walking all around the car. Some even video taped it and were taking pictures with camera phones. All day it had a small crowd checking it out.

Across from the Goodyear booth is the Hoosier booth. Each side is pretty good friends and the fiancee of the guy at the Hoosier booth had walked over to visit. She was commenting about the car (she didn't know it was mine at the time) about it was "Her favorite so far today" (Keep in mind there were Porches, Formula cars, Vipers, Mustangs, you name it) and "I love the look of the exposed rivets". I piped up and said thank you.

Most were asking what kind of car it was. I'd reply "Opel GT" and they all said "wow, it's a beautiful car!".

I was really proud.

The best part was when I was leaving. Right after the SCCA races there was the local drag races at 5pm. SCCA was over at 4pm so all the dragracers and fans were lined up from the ticket entrance to nearly the highway. Everyone watched and pointed as I paraded past. :D
