Apart from the workshop manual, what other books can help restoring the GT specifically? This group seems to have a wealth of knowledge but I don't want to cause anyone any more carpal tunnel than their restoration project might! While I figure I will search for a year or so for a car, I might as well learn as much in the mean time.

P.S. What do you figure the average "number of owners per GT" is? What are the odds of finding a 2-3 only owner car is? Just curious.

Interesting you should ask this.

It turns out that a GT was listed for sale few weeks back in the Democrat & Chronical. The car was listed with 58000 original miles--original owner selling. I called too late on the car and asked the seller if they would be willing to provide the new owner's name/address. They were going to check with the new owner and get back to me...never heard back.

Previous owner said the car was in excellent condition with very little rust.

MR Bill, thanks for the heads up, I hope I can aquire a very origianl GT someday. I am prepaired to wait it out. I need to keep reviewing all sources though including the papers.
