My observation is that this is a tough room for selling a car. No one wants my wagon and have not had any offers. :-( Mine runs great too. Guess i'll have to pay for another year of registration due in 2 weeks.
That's called being an 'enabler'...I think in general this group thinks we all have Opelitis and they are just trying to get us through a "rough spot" where it appears we have weakened and need support.
The Manta is highly underrated. I loved mine and if it didn't have welded door hinges, I would have kept it much longer.Hi there Timbo!
Is your Manta still available?
I'm new to Opel GT. I work at MotorTrend (on their video production side) and while I've always wanted a classic car to work on, I've never followed up on it. Well after two years of MotorTrend, I think the bug's finally gotten me. Over the holidays I started looking for a project car/maybe a daily driver, depending. And I stumbled across this awesome yellow 74 Opel Manta.
And I fell in love with it. The more I read about Mantas, the more I liked them. I found out my father used to rally Mantas up in the pacific northwest (why he waited till now to tell his son an awesome thing like that, I'll never know). I had plans to go check out the car when the holidays were over.
And then of course it sold.
But that Manta bug had got me - I've spent weeks now looking at other cars, other options and not a single one gets me as excited as the Manta. But of course there aren't a ton of Mantas for sale. After scouring the internet I figured I would hop on here and reach out and see if anyone knew of any sales... and I found this thread. And it's been great to read the story over the last couple of months and hearing this amazing community's response.
This Manta's probably sold and there are a million reasons it wouldn't make sense for me to get it. But I figured I would check. And at least pass on my respect for how incredible a car it is.
