I need a set of solid lifters for the Tinyvette. We recently raced on a set of hydraulics and they did not last the weekend.

Hi Mike- I think new ones are nearly impossible to find... last set I bought came from England- 8 or 9 years ago...! I you don't find any, i have some used ones that probably should be refinished... BTW- are you switching lifters AND cam to solids? What were you running on that last race...? I'm curious. What springs are you running...? Ernie

I know. I'm willing to refurbish them.
We were running a hydraulic cam and lifters at the race. I'm switching both over to solids.
Todd says he has a bunch of them, $10/each. Let's see what he comes up with. If I don't hear back from him soon I'll give you a call. Thanks.

Gil has some, but not enough for a complete engine.
I don't see Opel listed on Piper's web site.

Hi Mike- what failed? did the lifters break apart or did the bottoms get hollowed out by the cam? are the cam lobes OK? Do you have a dam at the rear of the head where the oil drains back down to the crankcase...? Last and still critical, what valve springs and! how much spring pressure are you running?

Just curious: Can you use solids on a hydraulic cam or hydraulics on a solids cam? I thought you could do one, but not the other.
If I could switch to solids with my hydraulic cams I would do it in a second. With hydraulics you never know for sure what your valves are doing, with solids you always know what's up. When you start to hear a slightly louder tap, you know it's time to do a tiny adjustment, usually just once a year.

Are they the hollow ones he sourced from Europe? We had those at one time and we were breaking them.
