Does any one know why when I took my fuel tank out I found a conical shape spring hanging on the steel lip of the tank? The small end was faing into the tank, It didn't seem to be attached to anything.
Ahhh yes....I remember those good ole days of the mid and late 70's? With oil shortages, gas lines, gas rationing, locking gas caps, anti-siphon devices and a tank of gas that cost half your paycheck (after you waited in line for an hour) !!! No offense to you Gene...but Jimmah Cotta should have stayed in Jawja.
Thought that happened in '73-'74. 2 years BC (Before Carter).... Gas went up to 0.50 cents a gallon, 5 gallon limit. Then it peaked at close to (gasp) $1.00/gal. Meanwhile there were tankers off the coast that were being turned away. (According to a friend whose dad worked in the Merchant Marine)
