I have posted in the past about a "sproing" noise coming from the rear of my Manta on rare occasions. It sounded like a spring under pressure letting go when going around corners. Not all the time, just here and there. Well the mystery is solved. While doing a brake overhaul on the right rear wheel I noticed a 2nd, much smaller spring that is welded to the top of the rear axle and attached to the body at the top by a large rubber grommet. The grommet is worn, allowing the spring to catch on a lower part of the grommet before letting go and springing (or sproinging) back into it's proper place. Don't know if GT's have this same dual spring setup on their rear axle but it is the source of the "sproing" noise. Anyone know of a source for this rubber grommet? I haven't checked with OGTS yet but they are on my list of places to check out.
