Greetings from rainy Toronto! I have a quick question re: GT body panels. I have a lovely '72 with a very slight nose ding. I don't think it's in the realm of a hammer repair so I've got a new nose clip off of a doner car and I'm getting ready to have the work done but in researching things I ran across the site from the title line (Opelgtparts.com) They show a new nose in metal that is in two parts. First question, am I bound to using two parts instead of the one complete piece I have? Second question, does anyone have experience with this vendor? Finally, if I am stuck using new parts, would it be preferrable to use the steel or the f'glass from Gill at OGTS?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Not New...

Mike, I don't think Suselbeek has new body panels - the best I got from there was an extremely good condition used "nostril" panel. Took many months and a final email that just said: "LuftPost Schnelle!" to get it sent.
Most of the panels are, apparently, salvaged from GT bodies that have been re-imported from the West Coast of the U.S. of A. So you can simply short-circuit the system by looking around closer to home......

Yes, I think that`s right. I have also ordered parts from them, and the latest order I sent was may 26. I haven`t received the parts yet, and I haven`t received one single reply on my many e-mails. So I wouldn`t buy anything from them unless I really had to.

me myself, i live in holland and i hear you guys complain a lot about suselbeek. i don't know why they don;t respond on e-mails. even i have problems with them. i e-mailed them last tuesday and didn;t get a reaction. then send another e-mail saturday complaining that they don;t e-mail back and i was wondering if it would be such good idea to order something from them. maybe i'll e-mail them about this problem cause they have great stuff. only did they e-mail back. already tried to call them? i sell cars and for us customers are no 1. and to see how they treat their customers is a reall shame. i saw here someone ordered months ago from them? a guy from norway i recall. already payed for it? getting it over there should only take at most 3 to 4 weeks. they just shouldn;t get away with this...

Hello, I`m the guy from Norway. Yes I think it`s a shame too, how they threat their costumers. They may of course have a reason for their long delivery time, and for not responding on e-mails, but then they should not say 1 week delivery for many parts on their web-site. All the parts I ordered may 26 had delivery within 1 week according to their web site. I`ve had problems before, then they blamed it on VISA. I must be honest enough to say I gave them the wrong security id by mistake the first time I ordered from them. Then they used that wrong number a couple of times, after I had sent them the correct, but ok, they apologized for that, and we finally agreed, and I got my parts after som time. But this time absolutely nothing has happend, and I`m very dissapointed since I now can`t get the GT on the road this summer as I planned. Norwegian winter isn`t good for an old car. Snow, rain, salt and such ugly things can destroy the "old lady". And no, I haven`t paid for the parts. They don`t charge before they actually sends the parts. So who knows what reason may be...? Maybe they reads this site and who is complaining????

I ordered a simple part that OGTS doesn't carry. It took 3 months and 2 e-mails. I must of been lucky, they answered my e-mails(after about a week) and they said they were looking for a good one. The part finally arrived and it works fine. This was a mechanical part, not a body panel.

Good Help ....

Sometimes we imagine the Opel Dealers with big sheds full of new and as new parts eagerly waiting to leap into action when our first eMail arrives...
The truth may well be a bit different to that and maybe the part we want is not so readily available - may even be still on a car in the back corner or not even readily available at all. Then there is the fact that "good help" is hard to find - help that can be let loose on valuable stock to carefully remove the requested part. I would guess that "good help" is as hard to find in Holland as anywhere else ???

I agree with that. And certainly it can possible be a puzzle when it`s many different parts in the same order. But I still think that they could give at least a short reply, to let the costumer know what is the trouble.

Opel GT Suselbeek

Almost placed Order with Opel GT Suselbeek last week. Added few items to Shopping Cart and was prompted with 19% tax on Order. Asked OMC Member from Holland (OMC Picnic Diner), and he thought that USA Orders may not have to pay local 19% tax.

Don't mind waiting for part if Seller would at provide concurrence that they will deliver. Might try a low cost Order to test their system? Trying to order "NEW" GT parts that are not available in USA.

Will collect my thoughts and send email to OPGTS and USA Opel to inquire if they have what I am looking for.

Hey! Me again! I just a few minutes ago finally received an e-mail from Suselbeek saying they where very sorry for the delay, and they will send my parts very fast this week. They had forgotten to send me the parts on time, and they will put a small gift in the parcel. So now I`m happy. So excited about that gift... can`t wait... So maybe I will buy from them again??? They do have some great stuff, you know!!

about that tax thing, i tought you did have to pay it. you should ask around at your place. customs or something.

Yes, do that Tom... Since my wife has family in Holland I feel like visit Suselbeek myself next time we go there. Don`t know when, It`s been a few years since the last time, and I didn`t own a GT then. Would sure be nice to see all the goodies with my own eyes.

well it's not a problem to get in the car, but it's a problem to get the car there. it's like 200km away from here, and my car doesn't run. don't know if you've seen the movie i posted? take a look at it, thread is called "firing her up after 20 years" in engine mechanical section. and only other transportation is a bicycle. by the way asking for what exactly?
cheers

Ask why he does not reply to our eMails!

You have it easy - I would have to swim across the Pacific Ocean; walk across the USA; swim across the Atlantic and THEN borrow a bicycle to ride to Suselbeek's shop! :)

well you know what, you can borrow mine! and i can get you a row boat. it would only take you 66 days. (a dutch guy tried it a month ago) maybe you can even break his record. well you do want a part for your gt. so it's doable.

i have to call them tomorrow (ask how it goes further, since i faxed an order and do want to know how much i have to pay for it. else it will take months too before i hear from them and i'll ask why it is there are so much complaints.
