T.O.O. - Informal Get-together

Hey Gang:
Mach1Tom is in the area this week, and will be leaving next Sunday.
We'd like to get together while Tom is around and shoot the Opel stuff !
He is tied up all week, but wants to meet on Sunday when his time frees up.

For any of you who don't personally know Tom, just figure you'll get to meet one of the real good guys on this list !

Let me know if you can make it - the gathering will most likely take place in the Willow Grove, PA general area, since he will be driving back to Pittsburgh via the turnpike.

Rick Gradwell
Hatboro, PA

p.s. - We still have to talk up the area gathering and decide on a date, as well as plan for Opels Across America.

I might be available, but I might have to work(UGH). I'm still looking into a picnic Mid Sept. with the possiblity of a short drive through the countryside.

Just got back from Wisconson(sp). It is a great area for GT touring, no stoplights and great cheese & State Fair Creampuffs :p
Sounds good ............

Sounds good ............. the cream puffs and the meet with a drive ! :D

I e-mailed a few local guys that may not check this site on a regular basis.

Hope to see you. Jeff.

Rick
I'm originally from Wisconsin 24 years ago. The Cream Puffs are one of the few things I miss from back there. Great touring in the summer, but stay out of there in the winter!
:)
Hey Rick,
Would love to be there & see the gang. But I'll be in Disney World starting on Saturday.

Give my best to Tom. Maybe if he feels inspired to search, he could bring one of those distributor covers that I offered to buy from him but never got around to finalizing the arrangements. (Tom, I could send you the money via Paypal)

I'll be in your neck of the woods on Thursday as Eric goes back to WCU this week & needs some help moving furniture.

Hope your family is doing well.
Marc
Looking for fall gathering location ..........

Marc:
Sorry you won't be able to meet with us this time around. :(

Jeff:
My brother works in Doylestown and just sent me this link .......

Anyone interested - it's a Concours event to be held Sept 12th (rain date Sept 19th). Just curious ........ check out the website - nice photos from last year's event.

Hi Rick,
I'm available on Sunday for a get together. Let me know the details and if you need anything. I've been to the Buckingham show in the past. They normally have some very nice cars there as it is a concours show. I know you had to be pre-registered in the past to enter, don't know if it's still the same or not. See ya Sunday.

Duane
This Sunday sounds good, just got back from vacation and would like to cruise. Let us know where.

I will check my parts stock, I may have a distributer cover.
we have a victim ..... uhhhhhh volunteer

Duane has kindly offered to host our Sunday gathering at his home in
Plumstead, PA (near Doylestown, just off Rt. 611).
I'll try to get in touch with Tom to arrange a time. In the meantime,
what would everyone like to do refreshment-wise ? :p
Rick
Beer and Soda is good for me :D Would you like us to bring anything, desserts, etc. :p
TOO meeting

Plumstead, PA., 28.5 miles from me. TOO close to miss. :) Can someone pm me with directions? Thanks.
Mapquest says 202 miles for me. What time are you starting things up Duane? Haven't been down to your place in a while....
DAMMIT! I haven't gone on vacation in 8 years and the one weekend when I finally plan something where it can't be changed, all the Opelholics are having a get together.

DAMMIT! (I know I said that already!)

Have fun! I'll miss seeing you all.
Marc

Hey Marc:
Do you think that's a coincidence ?!?!?!???? ;)

We'll get together again - a couple of times even - before it snows.
We still have "Opels Across America".

Rick
I can also bring a snack that won't melt in my car its HOTTTTTTT in there
Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your questions, I've been in a staff meeting all morning. I figure it will be easier to just put directions on the post rather than sending each of you an individual PM. The actual address is 5472 Stump Road Plumsteadville, PA for fans of map quest. For our New Jersey friends the best way is to take Rt 202 accross the river into PA and follow 202 to Rt 413 in Buckingham PA. Make a right turn onto 413 and follow that to the 3rd traffic light. There will be a deli that is painted like a cow on the right hand corner. Do not turn at the light but follow straight on 413 for about 2.5 to 3 miles and you will come to Stump Rd. There is no traffic light there but, make a left and follow Stump Rd 1 mile to my house on the left. #5472 is on the mailbox post. For everyone else, make your way to Rt 611 and follow it to Plumsteadville (about 6 miles North of Doylestown). There are only 2 traffic lights in Plumsteadville, the first one is at a WaWa the second one is at Stump Rd. Make a right onto Stump Rd and follow it 1 mile to my house on the right. Bob, if you're planning on comming, the best way is I95 south to the Newtown PA exit then follow the Rt 413 directions mentioned earlier. Rt 413 will take you from Newtown to Buckingham where you can pick up the rest. As for food and beverages, if everyone just wants burgers and dogs I can get them and each person can bring a side dish. Please just give me a head count so I can make sure everyone will have enough. Starting time is Open. Whatever works for everyone is fine with me. I would think we should give everyone enough travel time, especially those coming from afar, and not start too early. Any sugestions? I'm up at 5:00am anyway so it's more what works for you guys. Looking forward to hearing your input. Thanks!

just a thought .........

Hey Duane:
How about once everyone arrives, you break out the drywall and compound and stage a Drywalling Party :D

So far I know it will be Adam and I; not sure if LA can make it.

Maybe I'll whip up a lemon meringue pie ?!?!?!?!?

Thanks,
Rick
