Just posting to put the thread in place.
We will be changing Hotels this year, back to our old one (Now a Days Inn), I'll have more details soon.
Cheers, Rob.

This year I plan on bringing some home brew (Just brewed my first batch last night)

An additional reminder:
I believe that today is the last day for the special deals from the fairgrounds, for season passes and individual event passes.

Not trying to open can of worms but why are we changing the hotel? The guest feedback on Days Inn is quite bad:
I may change my tagline to "You're damned if you do, and your damned if you don't"
:moon:

PJ, there was just too many negative comments on the last place, and once I get the deal finalised, you might be pleasantly surprised at the Days Inn rate....

Management realized that maybe they lost a lot of rooms..? Since they are so far down they are last choice for a lot.

PJ..

The hotel is not stellar.. but I can guarantee if Rob tried to get us the Hampton Inn, Holiday Express, etc.. they won't be near as accomodating, and half the Opel owners will go to the Days Inn or some other "less expensive" hotel. :banghead:

That said the new / old place wasnt horrible... there are MUCH worse hotels in Carlisle. Its the best bang for the buck if you will.

If one thing I learned over the years Opel people are a bunch of tight-wads :) (Although there are exceptions :p )

I give a :bigok: to going back. I much prefer the inside gathering room to the outside freezing area!

One more thing.. I would say the Americas Best (Days Inn now...) rooms overall weren't a huge difference over the last place.

BTW.. I'm home brewing now.. know we have a few others.. anyone for a friendly competition :)

I must say too...the old hotel...I darn well miss it. The parking lot is a lot better, it is like a small show field. There are some of us that like to sell parts, and it is set up a lot better there for doing that. The Comfort Inn you had to make a special trip to the trailer parking...whereas with the old hotel...I can be right with the group. The party room is awesome, and if you party hard enough...you don't care what the rooms may lack in. Save room 2020 for me!

Hotel Details For 2013

Right then, here's the details for the hotel:
We are staying at:
The Days Inn Carlisle North,
1825 Harrisburg Pike,
Carlisle, PA 17015.
Tel: (717) 245 2242.
Our rate is $69.99 per night and I have 50 rooms plus the conference room booked.
Usual rules, call up sooner than later, tell them you are taking a room from the Opel Group block booking.
I'll release any spare rooms on May 1st.
Cheers, Rob.

Thank you, Rob!
This trip will be more miles on the GT than I have put on it since I've owned it and I hope that it is up for it. Working the "budget" to make it there this year...the room rate will help(soooo not a camper).
