do I need to be using gasket sealer on this gasket OR on the cup seal that goes on the front of the transmission?

Thanks

Bosco;
I always use sealeant on the trans to bellhouse gasket, but, not on the cup seal. Periodically check the tightness of the 4 trans to bellhouse bolts, as they, especially the bottom 2, tend to lossen and cause the trans to jump out of gear.

Passenger-side bottom bolt is difficult to tighten properly due to wrench clearance and tightening arc limitations.
Most 15mm box wrenches (DO NOT TRY to tighten this bolt with just an open end wrench) have too-thick walls and too-far-recessed faces, both of which must be ground down to provide sufficient bolt head engagement and turning radius.
need gasket

Where can you get a paper gasket to go in between trans and bellhousing?
Is there a cross ref # for a Vega? OGTS?
the bottom passenger side bellhousing bolt wouldnt bee too bad if not for the headerpipe. what i've always used is a cut down 15MM wrench. its only a few inches long so its harder to torque down on it but it seemed a better alternative to a "crows-foot" wrench.
Just tightened that one up on my 69 last night. P.O. didn't get it tight and it was backed out--not even finger tight. I used a "shorty" box end. Worked very nicely.
