Anyone know where this bulb/socket is supposed to go? Guessing it’s an accent under dash light since it’s a Luxus?

Lighting up any of the instruments? No "accent" light on any Opel so you can see your feet, afaik.

There was an optional glove box light for the Manta.

Light in the glove box is there and working, and the dash lights work (but the rheostat is temperamental), it’s not one of the dash lights it doesn’t come on with them, and it’s not the radio light either. Puzzling.

Does it look like it has the old Opel color coded wires or new single color wires. Maybe the PO wired in a footwell light that comes on when you open the door or turn on the dome light.

It’s just a solid black wire, it doesn’t come on when the door is open or with the dome light. Must have been added.

Definitely looks like an instrument (gauge) light. Perhaps not stock though. It probably wont light up until grounded. Is the gauge closest to the bulb in the photo illuminated?

Yeah, that is an aftermarket bulb socket, looks like a Ford style socket. Not anything I recognize for a Manta

after looking at your pictures, it’s probably a light for your extra gauges below your radio
It does look the right size to fit the bottom of the first gauge in the picture
