If you remove the step and try to use the stock clutch, you'll never be able to disengage the clutch (relieve enough pressure on the pressure plate to release the disk). That's also why it's so important to grind the flywheel step the same amount that you grind the flywheel clutch disk surface, else you'll end up with a constantly slipping clutch . . . even with a brand new disk!Gary said:So can the step in the flywheel be removed and the stock clutch disc and pressure plate used?
I'd have to have one, too. We wouldn't talk about it much, of course...
I have purchased 2 aluminum flywheels from the manufacture here in California. I believe them to be similar to the Unorthodox wheel. They are drilled for the S-10 pressure plate. I believe there are a few left on the last production run. They cost $400.00. They don't sell to the public but I can use my resale license to buy you one. If your interested let me know.
Just bead blast it .. and anodize it black. Looks just like cast iron!It would be a little too bold for me to use one. An aluminum flywheel would just be way to simple for tech to spot. Sorry I can't get in on this.
I talked to the guys at Unorthodoxracing. They will build me a flywheel. The only problem is they will not do a set up and make less than 6 of them. Looks like I will have 5 to sell. Who wants one? What you guys don't want goes to E Bay:ugh:
