valve adjustment when warm - solid lifters

Just wondering.........

I need to adjust the valves when the engine is "warm"....... theoretically how long does this "warm" period last once the engine is turned off?? Long enough to change the adjustment nuts out with new ones AND go thru the lifters once to adjust and once to check?

Bosco, warm is considered to be the normal operating temperature for the engine. Once you shut down the engine, there will be no coolant flow and the engine will be the hottest in the next 15 minutes approximately, so you could do the swap on the nuts and do the adjustments during the half hour or so after you shut down the engine. HTH.
