I am the proud( very excited ) owner of a very nice red 72 Gt bought from "Flipper". A few days ago he was nice enough to ask the question of what would be needed to be done to adjust the carb from 1700 feet to sea level, even after the car was long gone. ( Thanks Shawn). Since then, I have done some homework and read all the forms and have adjusted the carb to " Weber Carburetor Set Up and Lean Best Idle Adjustment". Before I started the car would not idle and does not seem to have the power I think it should. I am comparing it to the wife following me home in our 92 turbo diesel passing me going up a mountain ( well mabe a hill compared to Keith's Rockys, proud of me Keith, right form) . Not cool!! Anyway, it will now idle, but the speed screw is out 3 1/2 turns from bottom and the idle mixture screw is out 4 turns from bottom. From what I have read I beleive it is lean. What do I do next? If I need to change jets are they hard to get at and if I do where could I get them? I did find a diagram of the carb to follow and I just remembered there is someone here that is nice enough to send out CD,s on a rebuild. I will see if I can get one. Sorry for rambling, must be the excitment.
Thanks Dwight.
