The doors on my 69 gt are really bad too. They sag a lot and they are hard to close since I put new door weatherstripping. When the car is jacked up right behind the front wheels the doors shut perfectly! But that is a problem in the future.
I think the "sag" is caused by whoever is getting out of the car, is pushing down on the door to get themselves stood up. Myself I push down on the rocker panel to stand up. No chance of damaging the door, IMO

The not so good! Driver's door is still jacked up, gaps and alignment. Compared to passenger door, way off. The body shop allowed it's the best it could do. Luckily for me, I found a shop that told me that they can get that door mounted right. Glad it's winter time, lol.
Those vertical window frame posts are about as stiff as an Alfredo noodle and deform easily, even when just putting new weatherstripping in. This was a problem on mine even when new.
You can close the gap at the top of the door by opening the door and putting a wood block between the body and the door below the window line. With the wood in place, gingerly press (yes, bend) the top of the door inward and then close the door and re-check the gap. Repeat until the gap is right. If you go too far in at the top you can bend it back out. Minor adjustments like this never affected the paint on mine.

Congrats but please be careful. I saw a Pontiac doing 360's in front of me, I was on the same ice patch, I didn't want to hit my brakes so I tried to sneak by the slowing spinning vehicle and almost made it but couldn't thread the needle. LOL

I am unaware of this strange concept of "good wreck"....
Any wreck you walk away from is a good one.

My fiancé and her son are currently at a funeral down in Connecticut. My stepson’s friend died last week (age 18) in a single-car wreck. No seatbelt.

Teens always think they are unbreakable, sadly.

And that is why I always wear a seatbelt. On the 69 GT I usually wear both but they are a nightmare to put on. I used to just wear the lap belt, but I wear the shoulder on too. I need to get them be more adjustable since they are pretty rusty.

I flipped a 1972 GT, end over end, then rolled three times stopping on it's tires. I walked away, that was a bad/good wreck. I've had a few of those.

sad part is the insurance company will try to give you $500 for your car
just stick to your guns and say I want the car I had sitting in my drive way
Yep If I crash I will probably rebuild the car anyways. My daily is a 91 Honda prelude si and it is a pretty rare car. I have never saw another one before. And plus it would be fun to rebuild it anyways.

The spinning car that I couldn't squeeze by and I had the same insurance company and the company concluded that the fault was 50/50 and would only pay half the value. I got to keep the car and they gave me $650 (back in the late 70's). Since it was one of my daily drivers, I patched it up to use for winter driving and eventually became a parts car. LOL

Pics.- Pre accident, the 72 behind what was back then a "Datsun" pick-up and the other had the damage cut out and I bent up some sheetmetal to make it more presentable and pass inspection.

Took some WD-40 and sprayed it into my distributor. I now have snap in my rotor, it moved but was very sluggish in coming back from advance. No longer, rotor snap is back! Need an extra pair of hands to install catch bottle for the radiator. Son is coming over tomorrow. I want that radiator to be a closed system.
