Well attempted, ATTEMPTED to replace a new windshield shade piece on the top side of windshield. New one different material with chrome letters looks great, but to cold out to install. Wait for it to warm up, lol.

The e-brake hasn't worked since we bought the car. The handle wouldn't ratchet when pulling up, so naturally the button didn't release. All components under the car were in place so today I pulled the e-brake console to take a look. You can see by the pictures; when pulling up on the handle the parking pawl wasn't engaging with the toothed segment. All it took was liberal amounts of WD-40 while manipulating the pawl forward and back. Adjusted the tension from underneath and we now have a working e-brake.

Very often it is simple things such as this. I recently installed a trim piece around the parking brake that had been missing on my 1964 Triumph Spitfire4, and in short order I was having a problem -- the brake would not release. Upon inspection, I found that when I pulled up on the handle to set the brake, it would stretch a piece of the vinyl trip to the extent that it fouled the release mechanism.

Car finally made it into the shop, that hopefully can repair my driver's door and have it mounted properly. Install the five speed and new heater core and wire the car. When finished, it should be finished.
He Rick, Where did you get the sun shade and what is the price. Thanks, Carl

40, 95, 95, 140 compression test numbers. I knew she was tired, looks like I'll be taking that 1.9 to a 2.0.
Wow! How was it even running on 40! That is insane! Also if you wanted to save money you don’t have to go to a 2.0L ogts sells oversize pistons. But If it were me I would go with the 2.0L. In the future when I have a job my grandpa and I are going to build a fully molded out 2.0L.

It ran, but it was gutless. I want to take it to 2.0 just to bump up the horsepower a little. When AC kicks on, maybe it won't fall on its face.

"While you are there..." boring it out to 95 mm, replace the valves with at least the 2.0 valves, as that will provide more increased power and torque than the increase in displacement.

And for even more fun, a higher lift, longer duration cam along with the larger valves and more displacement is the ticket.

yea I forgot you had AC. Then the 2.0L is probably the way to go.

Sat down this afternoon with my machinist and Gil on conference call to get all the parts required to rebuild my engine and take it out to 2.0 and some extras. Tear down showed that the engine was bone stock, no major wear to be seen except for oil pump spring had some wear. Excited about moving forward with this car rebuild! When all finished I'm going to own one very cherry GT!

Today, while looking for a few parts that have evaded me for a while, I found a cardboard box at the bottom of a bin. Inside that box was a bag. Inside that bag were these lug locks. No biggie, except I bought the dang things in 1984, they were never used, and I haven’t see them in about 25 years.

That makes it a good day!

They are BWA brand lug locks, to go with the 13 x 8 BWA Sportstars I also bought in 1984. So the set is finally reunited again….
