I have an opportunity to purchase a complete (but disambled) GT. I only need a few parts and am wondering if I can get rid of the rest of the car quickly as I do not want it sitting around for months.

Do you have much success selling parts on this site? How does E-bay fare with GT parts?

Thanks

The parts could really be made back into a GT... it is that complete. Good sheet metal, doors, all glass, seats, dash with matching crack in steering wheel, engine (runs rough), headlights, taillights, suspension... the list goes on.

then why not turn it back into a gt? would it make a good project car, i.e. is the sheet metal ok or full of holes? could one simply buy parts and complete the car?

it seems a shame to part out a car, particularily one that sounds to be in good shape.

Yes... there is probably enough there that it could be built back into a car. The problem is that I don't have the time but also don't want to pass up a good deal. I thought the easiest thing to do was to take the parts I need and sell the rest off piece by piece. If I get the parts I will advertise them all and if someone want the whole lot they can have it.

Got the car and parts last night... There is allot there... I will have to take inventory and then post whats available in the classifieds. In the mean time... feel free to pm me with requests if you have any.

Passenger door, tranny, windshield, and most suspension is spoken for but everything else is fair game.

There are teenagers alive today, getting their driver's license, that had not yet been conceived when this thread was last posted to.

Maybe just create a new classified thread, as it has nothing to do with this one?

My oh my Kyler, to be young again :p What model Opel door are you looking for smoothmoses? I have one off of a 1970 Opel GT all in tack except for glass. However, I live in Washington State and the shipping would probably be a killer to Florida.

What does the front wind shield look like?
Well, first of all, it's made of glass, so it's transparent. This is important for a windshield so that you can see through it and drive your vehicle. If it was not transparent you would not be able to see and would have to stick your head out the windows. This is important because the GT only has manual windows, making it time consuming to raise and lower depending on whether the driver wants to see where they are going or not at that particular time.

The next feature you'll notice is that the windshield appears to match the shape of the hole left between 4 critical areas of the car:
1 - The cowl
2 - The roof
3 - The driver's side A-pillar
4 - The passenger's side A-pillar.
... this however, is purely coincidental and has no bearing on the driveability of the vehicle.
