Can you tell me which other Opel's have the same Gearbox and Clutch as the GT?
It seems like my Clutch Bearing is broken, when the motor is running and I press the clutch pedal, the pedal shakes og it makes an Sound as if some of the balls in the bearing are missing. I have not yet taken the gearbox off to check but I am planning to do so this evening Danish time.

Virtually all of the Opels of the same era (1968 to 1975, at least the four-cylinder models that were imported into North America) including the Manta, Ascona, and Kadett used the same clutch and transmission.

What you describe certainly sounds like a worn out release bearing. When you remove the bell housing, it is the bearing that rides in the clutch release fork. If the bearing makes even a slight grinding sound when turned (or is just plain seized), it is worn out. Also have a look at the pressure plate spring forks (the thin forks that the release bearing presses against) as they may be worn down if the release bearing is seized.

If you have the clutch apart, this is usually a good time to at least thoroughly inspect the driven disk, and probably replace it. Also look at the pressure plate disk and flywheel to see if they need re-facing, and look at the pressure plate itself to make sure that none of the spring forks are cracked or bent. Also inspect the pilot bearing (the needle bearing inside the crankshaft that the input shaft of the transmission rides in) to make sure it is not piled up, and lightly re-grease it before you re-assemble the clutch and transmission.

Clutch change

What is the fastest way to get to the clutch to change the release bearing/throw out bearing.

Can it be don by droping only the Gearbox out from under the car. and the replacing the Clutch fro under teh car.

Yes, That would be the quickest easiest way.

I support the rear of the engine with a small jack under the oil pan. (use a piece of wood to protect the pan) so the fan does not get too close to the radiator.

Clutch replacement.

All of the 1.9L Opel CIH engines with a manual transmission use the 8.0 inch/205mm clutch disc. The replacement cost in USD for the disc, pressure plate and release bearing is about $150-$175 depending upon the place of purchase. There are usually complete replacement sets sold in Germany on eBay starting at 25-35 Euro.

A tip on assembling the gearbox to the bell housing if you have a 4-speed transmission, replace the paper gasket between the two pieces. Use the old gasket for a pattern if you cannot obtain a replacement gasket. If you do not use a gasket or the original gasket is not intact, the transmission will leak from the front bearing.
