Opel (GM Europe) made the engine. The GT body was made in France. Rebuild parts are becoming harder to find, but are still available. Try Opel GT Source.

who makes the 1.9
I have a 1970 opel gt and I think it has the 1.9 in it and was wondering who made that motor and if rebuild kits were available? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Chris
