Hi all...

Luckily I have no need for glass replacement for my Ascona, but I always had a question in my mind. What happens if there is a need for any glass replacement? Are they tough to find? Are there some compatibles or smthing?

Thanks,
Thanos

New, oem, glass is pretty much impossible to find. Aftermarket glass is available, though. We had problems with aftermarket glass for GT's from Pilkington for a long time, maybe that is fixed. Don't know about Ascona's.

Some people buy or bought a whole spare junk car just to get the windshield.

Of course, i wouldn't expect to find new, oem glasses... But i was always hoping for some aftermarket compatibles or something. It sounds frustrating to spend time, effort and money on our lovely opels and have a freak windshield crack to make it hard to repair.

Door and back glass used not a problem.

Windshields new or aftermarket are made of unobtainium, for any US Opel not named GT.

Not knowing how cold it gets in Greece, not to mention how far away Greece is, I have a heated back glass for an Ascona A sedan
