hey i need to no which wires go to the temp gauge theres 3 connections on the back of the gauge one has a (+) which i would assume is a 12 volt connection the other has a (G) i believe thats the ground and i assume that leaves the connector inbetween those two for were the gauge wire attaches too, can any one clarify this for me??

As per the '72 FSM (tell me if your's is a pre-'71), the upper terminal should be a "+", and is connected to a black wire with a red stripe, which also connects to the "+" terminal on the fuel gage. This is a "hot" from the fuse box.

The centre post should be connected to a brown wire, which is the ground.

The lower terminal should be marked "G", and is connected to a blue wire, which is connected to the temperature sending unit.

If you are going to play with wiring (or darn near anything on an Opel), you REALLY need a service manual, and preferably a FSM (Factory Service Manual). Or at LEAST download the wiring diagrams from the Photo Gallery. JM2CW, IMHO, FWIW.

mine is a 72 and i have a print out of the wireing diagram just dont have access to it till monday so i wanted to no befor hand so i could start messin wit it. thanks for the help.
