please clarify

okay,,, do you mean me or my car's? The car is a little over 1950 with the rebore and new pistons and it should be nice and fresh.

The owner has many miles since new and is no longer described as fresh or "quick throttle response" or even "smelling new". Possibly not even firing on all cyllinders.

? Engines ?

I see the:
1.9L & the 2.0L "<"
So... does 2.0L "<" mean "less than 2.0L displacement??????
Then if it does,..... I guess my 2.4L Opel engine is a "<" than a 3.0L?????

I think the poll needs to be changed to read.

"What displacement Opel CIH engine, does your Opel have?"
1.5L
1.9L
2.0L
2.2L
2.4L

Another Poll could be:

"What "Make" Engine is in your Opel:
Opel (1.5L - 2.4L)
Buick V6 (231 cid)
Chevy (2.8L - 3.4L V6)
Chevy Small Block V8
Chevy Big Block V8
Ford Small Block

Seems like kind of a personal question

But I agree with Dennis, as my engine "size" does not appear on original poll.

In-between size musings . . .

Most auto manufacturers typically categorize engine size in 100cc increments and don't concern themselves with details of anything in between. This conflicts with typical "rounding" methodology, as any dispacement between 1850cc and 1949cc would be considered a 1.9.

However, if you bored a stock 1.9 (1897cc) .040" over for 94mm pistons, you can't really call it a 1.9 any longer, but it's also technically not a 2.0 (1979cc) either. So would any overbored, stock stroke 1.9 then be considered a 2.0? I'm just curious because I have the same thing with my "3.9" Bitter SC, 95mm bore X 90.5mm stroke = 3849cc. I know . . . just semantics.

BTW, for quick calculation purposes, every .010" (.25mm) bore increase in our Opel 1.9 engines results in ~10cc displacement increase. ;)

Chevy pistons with 1.9 crank

BTW, for those using the Chevy 3.75" pistons (95.25mm), your actual displacement with the 1.9 crank is 1989cc. Hmmm, that would mean using a .010" over Chevy piston with the 1.9 crank results in 1999cc.

In no particular order:

1927 cc's
1958 cc's
1989 cc's (2)
1992 cc's
2170 cc's
2263 cc's
2354 cc's
2372 cc's
2403 cc's
2478 cc's
2700 cc's

All are CIH Opel engines, with various bore and stroke combo's.

Why can't we vote for the Opel GT 1100?!? GT 1100 and GT 1900 these engines are the only ones who needs to be in the poll!!
I just converted the model engine choice (which I didn't understand) to the 1.1 litre. Vote away!
