I bought a Kadett wagon at an auction once, it had the two pipes spit off the headpipe and ran thru two mufflers and tailpipes out in front of the rear tires. Sounded kinda sporty, but it had absolutely no bottom end at all and was a real bear to drive in city stop and go traffic. Because of the lack of torque, I wound up putting the system back to a single muffler (glasspack) off the stock headpipe with a single tailpipe and resonator tip(Ansa) much better low end power and still sounded sporty.

 

I think if you ran single from each exhaust port it would make an interesting sound. Leave your power somewhere at the exhaust shop but hey if it sounds like it's going to explode or miss you get to rebuild it and try for an even odder sound. how about glass packs on the odd cylinders and straight through on the others?:bs2: Ya it's technical

Adding an extra pipe would do the same thing to performance as upgrading the pipe size. With a car with an already low torque/HP.. you would just be robbing what little it has left. IMO.. don't do it. Plus with lots of airflow, you get barely any sound. I learned that putting an exhaust on my truck. The larger the pipe, the deeper yet quieter the sound. With a smaller pipe, you get a louder sound, but higher pitched.

exhaust has been on my mind lately, and i have no idea what im going to do. definitely dont want to go too big and kill power, but on the other hand i dont want someone to guess honda civic in a blindfolded hearing test.

 

From what I remember from hearing Dallas's GT. It sounds like a Harley Motorcycle.

 

I have dual side pipes like an old corvette. I get lots of complements about how good it sound. To me it sounds like a Harley-Davidson.... the quieter type, not the carzy loud ones.
