Todays intakes are more than likely made of plastic.
I've all way's shied away from them because of the lack of being able to easily improve the flow.
One case in point would be a 4.6L with PI heads. We had to remove the nice ported Alum. intake and replace it with a plastic unit to get the power up to the levels we wanted. So go figure:confused:
Another area where work needs to be done. Man I hate R&D on my nickle.

You'd want to keep the runners as long as stock since that is an appreciable part of the design intent...longer runners aid in torque. But no one said you couldn't extend the runners straight out towards the fender. Even downhill (invert the 'c').
True but with it's four inch stroke I think there's a little wiggle room.
Would a log type intake increase the HP output?

I had thoughts of modifing the intake... There are sensors for computers in the intake and then the throttle body would be repositioned. Then I realized I'm not a GM engineer who designed this setup. .
Bench Racers aka Wanna be GM Engineers?????
Ok lets do some bench racing.
Or let a tuner do the math for you.
flip over read directions LOL

I myself thought about this swap into a Kadett C (or Buick Opel by Isuzu), but the top of the timing chain housing intimidated me..... lol. I'm leaning towards a GM LD9 (2.4 Twin Cam found in J and N bodies) instead (I've had 10+ years of experience modifying them).
I'm working on a 2007 Holden 2.0L in a Froenza thats driving me crazy with transmission controls.
Output speed with the key on engine off.

Engine running trans in gear

Help I'm going bald working on this stuff................
