If you are contemplating casting things in aluminum, remember that cast aluminum shrinks about 3/16” per foot as it cools.

So all your dimensions on your prototype need to be proportionally larger.
Yep and why they are going to send me a prototype first. To check quality and dimensions.

The issue is how and were it will shrink. This company though can work from my digital model. So I think they should be able to upsize for the shrinkage as they are probably 3D Printing the blank.

I have no idea how they are going to do it to be honest.. they said give them the SAT and they will make it. CUrious if they use my dimensions on thier own "template" or if mine will be a faithful copy.

Guess I will find out.

As the manufacturer is quoting WITH a fuel rail..

And as I had to redraw the whole damn thing again.. ( It was being a digital mess of cut and paste..)

I even relocated the brake booster hook up.

I thinkI even got it a little more compact

Charlie, your manifold design now gets the.......

Charles, these 90° swivel fittings are a lot more compact than the 180° fitting you have on there for the booster hose, just FYI.
I have fittings like that on my returnless fuel pump. Very handy to not have them locked in place.

As far as his 180* fitting, instead of a 90*, I'm sure he just reused the image from his previous drawings.

The 180 fitting is what I had.. those fitting being what they are I can use any once I know what I plan on.. ;)

Like a built in MAP sensor.. off a
09-11 Aveo
07-19 Impala
08-19 Buick Enclave
07-13 GMC

Very common and small and no vaccum lines needed. Just a small (and common ) plug, that I can hide the wires to under the manifold. ;)

I have a Honda throttle body I found that looks to be a good fit.

I will know soon, by the end of the week I will have a prototype in my hands, and be able to next weekend to mate this to my Opel GT and see how it fits. Make a few more changes, then one more prototype I hope and then the first production prototype will be ordered.

Chevy/Opel/Ecotec throttle body.

Uses generic GM IAC as well. 60x60 and 52mm throttle body. Its identical to the Opel ones..

So I have the IAC and TPS built into the throttlebody. MAP is built into the manifold.

Just ordered parts, and should have all the bits to fit up to the prototype..

Nice. Is this to fit CIH or did it leave the reservation.
It is currently designed to fit low port 1.5/1.7/1.9/2.0L heads. Obviously with a change of the flange it can fit 2.2/2.4 heads

I am about to start work on the 2.2/2.4L version. The only thing that should need to change is the flange and change in ports for the last 1" or so

I am working towards a full kit / intake for the GT that requires no mods to the body, so it should fit on any car.

It will also be able to use either the Jetronic, Motronic systems, or A universal kit with universal and readily available components and Mega/Microsquirt or of the other systems and programs.

Ship it to me when you want a flowbench test.

Good idea, Bob. Primarily, also because Charlie doesn't have a handy GT at home that he can test fit stuff to to identify problems. But you do.
Yes.. 3D prints. I have a few coming.

When I am done with a few fit up checks.. ( I Actually have both a 1.9L GT and a 2.2L GT just have to pull the stuff off for prototype fitting. )

Tom Sawyer was the white washed one that was in a flood, and my Free GT that I only just remembered has a 2.2L fitted to it.. ;)

I will print a final, then that Final I will send to Bob ;) as he offered ;)

Charles has 2 GTs
Yes, but they're in a nasty, grassy, weedy, storage lot still assembled. It's not a very good location to mess with car disassembly and removal of manifolds and such to test out fitment. It's also getting cold with snow coming and Charlie isn't a fan of Winter weather. He probably won't do any wrenching in his garage until Spring.

Bob has his father's old GT indoors in his heated giant garage/workshop and he uses it to test fit the various mods and stuff he makes.
