1) the flange is 12 mm thick
2) they bolt the flange to a solid fixture plate before welding it together

But yes, I agree the finish looks nice!

Yep the flange is defintely 12mm thick..

The prototype did not get the notch the others will get for the thermostat housing.

They are working on a fixture to make them all the same now.. Hopeing to have one complete kit ready for TinyVette in my hands by Carlisle and then will ship to them then. Cutting it close though.
 
Looks expensive...
LOL.. well it should.. but to be honest.. given this is a complete EFI kit from Distributor to ECU and Wiring harness and Intake and all for $2900 the price is much lower than other kits out there for more common cars.
 
TWO Pieces of news..

#1 - We are getting the Thermostat housing added to the kit, and casting the Fuel Rail and Intake. IN GERMANY.

The "BASE KIT" Intake, Rail and Thermostat housing will be available now. For the true DIY person, you could also swap a Motronic or Jetronic onto the intake for use in a GT. So you provide all the other components for your EFI.

Been asked to have the IGN KIT - The Distributor Based 12-1 Hall Sensor available solo.. So thats gonna happen. Late June.

Pricing :

BASE KIT = Bare Intake, Thermostat housing ( Reuse Opel Cap ), and Fuel Rail. : 650€ / $850

IGN KIT = Distributor (actually a 12-1 Hall Sensor) - SOLO NO COIL : 410€ / $450 ( 5 KITS Left )

FUEL KIT = ADD - Fuel injectors, Throttle body, MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, CLT sensor, IAC Sensor, TPS Sensor, 02 Sensor and pigtails for connectors. : 1100€ / $1250 ( 5 KITS Left )

FULL KIT ( SOLD OUT ) = BASE KIT, FUEL KIT, IGN KIT, Pre-Programmed ECU, Wiring Harness, Smart Wasted Spark Coil and Spark Plugs Wires. ( SOLD OUT ) - 1950€ / $2250

As we finalize the model for the sand castings.. we are adding and tweaking a few things.

#1 adding a boss at the top for those that want to use this for the brake booster OR want to run Motronic or a Bosh IAC if running megasquirt OR if someone had a turbo, the turbo might conflict with the booster location at the bottom. So good to have options. As these intakes are going to be made to order, you can ask for it or the bottom to be tapped or not.

The location of the throttle cable proved to be a bit wrong once we put it all together.

So I have adjusted this boss to be in the perfect location for the LOKAR cable holder.

As you can see currently it was too far out and high. Now it will line up

Also need to flip the throttle body so its aligned with the other side to help with alignment.

The throttle body comes with a cable holder that could be used, but doesnt need the boss on the intake.

Lastly..

After seeing this :

I realized we had a wasted oppurtunity. The testing had a small imbalance on #2 and #3.

Probably due to the all on the side creating a small restriction.

So we are going to open the chambers.

This is a ROUGH sketch of the intent.

From 30mm to 42mm wide

The window on #1 and #4 barely goes up.. (16.3mm from 15.9mm)
The window on #2 and #3 opens up from ( 8.3mm to 13.3mm )

Length of the runners also improves.

Original 143 / 150 - Opened up 143 / 146

Improving the flow characteristics of #2/#3 to be more like #1/#4.

#1 - Worst case scenario - Do nothing

#2 - Help #2 and #3 be more balanced with #1 and #4

#3 - Improve flow to all runners.

Given we are giving more volume and less restriction, there is pretty much a 0 chance it will reduce flow.
