Anyone out there convert their old GT sealed beam headlights to either xenon or halogen? Saw these on Ebay and well, they're purple and my car is purple and I got to thinking..... which I will admit that on occasion can be dangerous!:wiggle: We have quite a few dark roads out here in Hoschton and more illumination would always be helpful.

Hold up...... You just called me a wanker because I want to do something a little wild with my GT?????:ugh: Well now, seeing who that is coming from, I find that very funny! Hahahaha.

You know what they say, "If the music's too loud, then you're too damned old".... well, maybe the same thing applies with unusual colored headlights..... hehehehe

BTW, maybe you should not bandy about with the term wanker when describing a lady! It is a pejorative term meaning "a guy who masturbates". Sounds more like something you're familiar with!

Look, all I wanted to know is, if anyone had changed over their freaking headlights! Next time, I'll know to keep my personal preferences to myself, so I don't get called a wanker! Geez!:pat:

unless you buy the very expensive phillips kits, you will hate the HIDS

they burnout, fade fast. intermittent.

the 7" bulb/headlight housing is available with regular halogen bulbs and you can do the sylvainia zxe for real white light.

sometimes the aftermarket 7" headlights do not fit into the trim ring and I had to modify my trim rings. not cool

Okay, I admit it.

I'm one of those wankers.

The Red Baron had halogen headlights with an extra little bulb that tinted them bluish-purple.

I was not happy being a wanker.

I never drove at night, so other drivers wouldn't bestow the wanker moniker on me.

Uh-oh, I better check those 2.5" headlights with LED rings I have in the GTX.........

Whew! I just checked them, they have white LED rings and they are 6000K temperature HID Xenon bulbs, which are the normal natural white color.

Yippee! My wankerin' days are over!

I learn something new everyday... LMAO

The terms wank and wanker originated in British slang during the late 19th and early 20th century.[2][3] In modern usage it is usually a general term of contempt rather than a commentary on sexual habits. Wanker has similar meanings and overtones to American pejoratives like jerk or jerk-off.[4] More generally, wanker can carry suggestions of egotistical and self-indulgent behavior and this is the dominant meaning in Australia and New Zealand.[5]

Wanker may be indicated by a one-handed gesture,[6] usually to an audience out of hearing range.[4] It is performed by curling the fingers of the hand into a loose fist and moving the hand back and forth to mime male masturbation, which is equivalent to saying, "that person is a wanker".[7]

Regardless of which meaning was applied, ummm I don't care to be referred to as a wanker. Wild and wonderful...... why yes I'll accept that description!

Do NOT buy these. The advertising on the linked ebay page is full of BS from top to bottom. I'm not starting to type about all of this (I don't have all night), but let me explain it to you at the next Jawja meeting.

Here is an answer to your question. I installed Hella Headlamps.

This vendor has good prices. Hella were the stock lights in Europe.

HL79562 Hella 7" Round H4 E-Code Headlamp, Each - RallyLights.com

Give them a call and they will set you up. You can change wattage (and color probably). I have the stock version, 55W I believe and they light up the road nicely.

^^ THIS IS if you want to go under the dash and protect the old relays as well..

While your there might as well rewire the headlights..

Don't forget to rewire the headlight wires from the front shock tower forward. Lots of threads on that one.

Good Suggestion to add fuses to the power source since this circut is not fused.

I run with Bimbos and Wankers weekly and proud of it. On-On hash house harriers. Google it if you dont know what I am talking about. Now I see sci-fi guy and I do have more in common. But No Mike it's still not going to happen. Its just a fun term and shouldnt be taken offensively.
