Installing modern halogen headlights on a GT is a very common upgrade.
Both the name-brand and generic kits greatly enhance nighttime driving safety.

 

Oh dear Lord, please don't be one of those wankers who annoys the heck out of me with those weird color headlights! Get normal white colored halogen headlights...........with PURPLE LED's, if you must.

It's also illegal in most states to have any colors that aren't in the spectrum of white to yellow.

they burnout, fade fast. intermittent.

the 7" bulb/headlight housing is available with regular halogen bulbs and you can do the sylvainia zxe for real white light.

sometimes the aftermarket 7" headlights do not fit into the trim ring and I had to modify my trim rings. not cool

 

Go with LEDs. I'm waiting for someone to spend the $$$ on these and give us a review.

The Red Baron had halogen headlights with an extra little bulb that tinted them bluish-purple.

I was not happy being a wanker.

I never drove at night, so other drivers wouldn't bestow the wanker moniker on me.

Uh-oh, I better check those 2.5" headlights with LED rings I have in the GTX.........

Whew! I just checked them, they have white LED rings and they are 6000K temperature HID Xenon bulbs, which are the normal natural white color.

Here is an answer to your question. I installed Hella Headlamps.

This vendor has good prices. Hella were the stock lights in Europe.

Give them a call and they will set you up. You can change wattage (and color probably). I have the stock version, 55W I believe and they light up the road nicely.

 

Dont forget to wire in relays to handle the load..:

While your there might as well rewire the headlights..

 

Don't forget to rewire the headlight wires from the front shock tower forward. Lots of threads on that one.

Good Suggestion to add fuses to the power source since this circut is not fused.

 

I run with Bimbos and Wankers weekly and proud of it. On-On hash house harriers. Google it if you dont know what I am talking about. Now I see sci-fi guy and I do have more in common. But No Mike it's still not going to happen. Its just a fun term and shouldnt be taken offensively.

 

Rally racers used to add a second pair of Rallye fog lights, mounted to a bracket attached to the front bumper on a GT. Not very practical in traffic, but they looked cool.
