Not intending to actually do the 6 cylinder to 4 cylinder conversion but it has the aero engineer / mechanic in me curious. How does one just lop off two cylinders? Do you make two cuts to remove a section then weld the ends together? Knowing what a pain in the but it is to jig up aircraft parts for welding I can’t see how you guys are reliably, robustly, and accurately for a cost that makes sense. My hats off to you guys doing it.
 
Cut off the last two cylinders and add a cap at the end.

Welding cast iron isn't the easiest thing to do and it wouldn't be very reliable.
